Theme For February- Gluten Free Bread!
A good gluten free bread can be hard to find, especially if you are newly gluten free! This month I will post reviews on a variety of bread products like mixes, fresh baked items, prepackaged buns and rolls, and frozen bread products. I will also toss in a few non-bread reviews, because, let’s be honest, I can only eat so much bread in a month!
Be sure to check back tomorrow to enter to win February’s gluten free food giveaway!

Our family of four has been gluten free since September 2007. Here are our current favorites: 1) For hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, sub sandwiches, we eat Ener-G Foods Tapioca Dinner Rolls and Hotdog Buns. (We use the dinner rolls as hamburger buns which gives us 6 for the price of 4 of their hamburger buns.) These are shelf ready. We usually cut them in half length-wise, apply a little olive oil and toast them before adding our toppings. 2) Kinnikinnick Tapioca Rice New York Style Plain Bagels are another fav. (We microwave one for 1 minute, them cut and eat.) The kids love these with cream cheese for breakfast. Another option is to cut them into pieces and use as a french toast substitute. 3) Kinnikinnick Brown sandwich bread. We toast these and use for our BLT’s - a family favorite. We use an entire loaf for a meal.
We have also just started experimenting with various recipes, but have not perfected our own bread as yet. Our advice is to keep trying various breads for your various uses until you find something you like.
