Product Review: Nature’s Path Organic Crispy Rice Cereal (gluten free, Kosher)

Posted on | July 27, 2009 | 3 Comments

Nature’s Path has a good reputation when it comes to gluten free cereals, but how does their gluten free version of Rice Krispies stack up to the competition?

This cereal looks like small, smooth ovals of rice, just like it looks on the box, except the actual cereal is pale in color vs. the toasty brown color depicted on the cereal box.

It is true, this crispy rice cereal is crispy and crunchy, but it lacks the snap crackle pop of traditional Rice Krispies. The flavor is mild and would taste ever better with fresh fruit.
Overall, it is a good, solid, healthy tasting, product. However, if I had to choose, I think I prefer the Erewhon Crisped Rice cereal.
Pros: lightly sweet, crunchy in milk, low sugar ( 3 grams)
Cons: a  little bland, not very substantial
Rating: 4 stars
Ingredients: organic brown rice flour, organic evaporated cane juice, organic molasses, rice bran extract, sea salt

They make rice krispy treats that are so similar to the regular version, that I’ve been able to fool several crowds of people AND safely give my gfcf son a treat he can share with anyone.
