Gluten Free Halloween Candy list for 2011

Halloween preparations have hit our home in full force! My children are putting the finishing touches on their vampire costumes, while I busy myself arranging fat pumpkins on my front porch.

I love this time of year, because Halloween kicks off the whirlwind of fall and winter holidays. However, this also is a time to double check what candies and treats are still gluten free, and which ones aren’t. Manufacturing processes and ingredient lists are constantly changing, and for my health, I have to know what is safe to eat and what is not.

To help out my readers, I am posting links to some of my favorite gluten free Halloween candy lists. Click the links below to view the lists, but use your best judgement if you are unsure, especiallywhen the gluten free lists contradict each other. When it doubt, leave it out ( of your mouth!) Having been a older celiac for only the last 7 years, I applaud those that have provided info to help all those involved in the celiac world, specially those starting out and never tasting the foods “others” can eat…In the past few years it has gotten so much better for celiacs as there is an awareness among the restaurant and take out places that has never been…People are just more accepting our limits, and rising to the challenge to feed us and we are OK…Cooking schools must be teaching this and the food industry is now able to serve us safely…Bravo to those involved and thank you for being there for us all…
