Product Review: Jake Bakes Farmer’s Market gluten free Granola
Posted on | January 4, 2009 | 2 Comments

If you want a homemade tasting gluten free granola, Jake Bakes has a great version you may want to try. Their granola comes in a 12 ounce package and sells for $7.50. Another bonus is that it is made in a dedicated gluten free, dairy free, egg free, peanut free, tree nut free facility.
Jake Bakes’ Farmer’s Market Granola is a handcrafted granola packed with dried apricots, cherries, cranberries, strawberries, and blueberries. The flavor of the dried fruit is a perfect match with the gluten free oats, and the addition of flax seed, sunflower seeds and a touch of cinnamon and vanilla completes the mix. However, if you are not a fan of strong dried fruit flavors, this may not be the granola for you.
The aspect I like best about this gluten free granola is that it is chewy, slightly soft, and with a touch of crunchiness all rolled into one. I am not sure how they did it, but it is fabulous, although I am guessing the addition of vegan margarine helped with this. The granola has lots of large clusters, which is great for snacking, but not so great if you want to eat this as a breakfast cereal.
Overall, this is the best prepared gluten free granola I have tried thus far, I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.
Pros: chewy and flavorful, not too sweet
Cons: price
Rating: 5 stars
Ingredients: gluten free rolled oats, gluten free oat flour, dried apricots, dried blueberries, dried cherries, dried cranberries, dried strawberries, organic brown sugar, vegan margarine, sunflower seeds, organic flax seed, spices, organic vanilla beans, pure vanilla extract, salt.

Isn’t that company great?! I must admit that the vegan margarine flavor was a bit overpowering for me in this granola, but otherwise, it had a great texture and I loved the dried fruit! If you get the chance, try their marshmallows … heavenly!

Yes, I love the quality of their products! Unique and tasty- I didn’t really notice the margarine flavor, but appreciated that it made the granola easy to eat.
