I think these sauces were meant for me. No kidding.
Curry Simple had an entire line of ready made Thai sauces that are gluten free and very tasty. They offer yellow, green, and red curry sauces; as well as coconut soup and chili sauces that are gluten free. At first I was skeptical because I don’t use curry very much and cooking Thai food is a bit intimidating for me, simply because I am not that familiar with it. I guess you could call me a culinary chicken when it comes to Thai food!
These high quality sauces were just what I needed to help me break out of my shell. Simply add them to your protein and/or vegetables and you have yourself a fresh and flavorful meal ready in about 15 minutes. These sauces are not concentrated- simple pour from the bag and you are set.
I found the flavors fresh and pure and the curry wasn’t too strong for my sensitive palate, which made my taste buds happy. If anything, I wish there was more spice in the “spicy” red and green sauces. As my husband said, he wanted a spicy curry sauce to burn his mouth and pack a punch, and these sauces didn’t.
The only downfall I see to Curry Simple sauces is the packaging. I found that one package can easily serve four people. However, if you are only cooking for one or two, storing extra sauce is messy and awkward since there isn’t any type of closure system. I placed the entire sauce packet in a gallon ziplock to store extra sauce and it worked fine, but obviously these sauce packets were designed to be used all at once.
For more information, I highly suggest visiting the Curry Simple website. It boasts television clips, links to news articles about their products , recipes, ordering and ingredients information.
Pros: high quality ingredients, simplifies Thai cooking, ideal for a quick meal- it can be ready to eat in 15 minutes!
Cons: packaging is messy & not resealable, “spicy” sauces not spicy enough
