Yes, it is true- this summer good ‘ole Betty Crocker will feature new gluten free dessert mixes made in a dedicated facility -  brownies, chocolate chip cookies, devil’s food and and yellow cake mixes . And this fall they will also label their prepared frosting gluten free as well!

Hurray for Betty Crocker- the latest set of main stream products to join the gluten free bandwagon! When I get my hands on these mixes, reviews will definitely be up on this site.

“Whhhaaaaaattt??” is what I just shouted in my kitchen at my (slow) laptop! This is shocking to me! Too bad the mixes will no doubt be made more of refined processed white sugar than gf flour, and a huge no-no for my family, but still –WOW!

Just tried the brownie mix. FANTASTIC!!!! My 4 kids and I all agree they taste even better then regular brownies. Made the yellow cupcakes yesterday. I didn’t care for them but everyone else loved them. I thought it left a slight after tast (I am very picky). we will try the cookies next.

Thanks for the feedback Natalie! I can’t wait until my local grocer starts carrying them so I can give them a whirl.

I just made the brownies, and the flavor’s great. Not even sure what to say about the texture. The batter’s so thick I had to press it into shape. When it came out of the oven it was jut a big gooey mess, but I was afraid of burning it so I took it out. When it cooled, somehow it was greasy on the outside and a dry feeling on the inside. It’s VERY gritty with sugar. It was more like a strange fudge than a brownie. I did use coconut oil and EnerG egg replacer instead of butter and eggs, but those always work fine in other recipes. This is the first specialty GF product I’ve tried, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. Next time I will just try and make my own.

I just saw these on Amazon for an amazing price. I to have been waiting for them to come out but they aren’t carrying them at my local grocery store.
Btw, thanks for these reviews my 3 yr old son is on a GFCF diet and your reviews have been saving me a lot of money in not having to try all the brands.

My husband made the brownies for me tonight for dessert. I have been gluten free for 4 days and have been sad that I can’t have my sweets the way I used to, well after these brownies I don’t miss them! They were tasty!! Chewy, moist and fudgy – so good! Reasonably priced at local Hyvee Grocery Store for less than $3. My son and husband who are not gfree also enjoyed them having 2nds.
